Pernambuco is competing for International Award

Américo Amorim, CEO of D'Accord, competes with other representatives from seven emerging markets in the International Young Interactive Entrepreneur Award from the British Council.
Brazil will have a representative from Pernambuco in the International Young Interactive Entrepreneur Award of 2008, promoted by the British
Council. The entrepreneur Américo Amorim is competing in the Interactive category, with the project MusiGames, from D'Accord Music
Software, a company where he works since 2002. Américo is a Master in Business Administration from the Federal University of Pernambuco, he
will compete with other entrepreneurs from seven countries, considered emerging nations by the United Kingdom.
The event is scheduled to happen in November and will last two weeks. During this period, each participant will visit British companies from
the same market. "I'll present MusiGames and other Brazilian interactive media companies", says Amorim.
MusiGames is a business unit of D'Accord dedicated to develop music games. Américo Amorim says that been nominated to the award is
important to consolidate the Brazilian interactive media sector. This award will also be essential to place D'Accord in the international
market. "The winning company will receive a financial prize that should be invested to develop a project in partnership with a company
from the UK. I want to bring this partnership to Brazil."
According to him, by participating in this award, Pernambuco state will be able to obtain important deals, especially regarding to the
distribution of new games in Europe, technology licensing contracts and partnerships for co-production of games .
The Award was created in 2005 and is offered annually for young's entrepreneurs of the creative industry. This year, the award will be
offered in nine categories: publishing, music, performing arts, design allumni seminar, design, visual artsScreen, interactive,
communications and fashion. The selection process consists in two national rounds from where the representatives of each countries were
announced. The competitors companies are invited to participate by the British Council itself.
