Brazil marks presence at the largest world games convention

Since the first time that was realized, in 2002, the Games Convention (GC) became the biggest games event of the world, counting with strong names such as Eletronic Arts (EA), Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. Traditionally realized at the city of Leipzig, Germany, the convention brings together representatives of the most important interactive entertainment companies of the world, that launches the latest trends and advances of the sector. Watching the international market, the brazilians Musigames, Overplay, TechFront and Tectoy Digital will make presence at the 2008 edition of event.
Brazilian Games
For the fourth time at the convention, the brazilian Overplay promises to surprise during this year Games Convention. "We will launch, in a partnership with the the German publisher Tivola, a game for Nintendo DS to the feminine public from 8 to 14 years-old. To know more details, the public will have to wait for the convention to happen", reveals Jairo, business director from Overplay.
Less mysterious, Musigames, that participates for the first time of the convention, reveals details of the new game. "Using our experience in music software, we'll launch at the convention a demo of a musical game for Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and PC. The idea is that the player will be a DJ in tour around the world playing what ever he wants to. The biggest difference from similar games, like "Guitar Hero", is that at our game, "DJ Nights", the DJ doesn't need to mix only the songs that comes with the games. at the game he can download his own songs and play with it. The important is that the audience keeps dancing", says Américo Amorim, Executive Officer of Musigames.
Opportunities to get in the international market
Beyond releasing new games, the Brazilian companies expects to fortify contacts and, primarily, make business with foreign companies during the event. "We will show only the first stage of the game and at the convention we hope to close contracts with some publishers to launch the game in the market", says Américo.
In other hand Techfront and Tec Toy Digital are going to Germany just for business. "Our goal at this convention isn't to launch a new product, but to fortify our contacts and partnerships with companies with interest in developing games to Nintendo DS and iPhone", informs André Penha, Tec Toy Digital director.
For the first at Games Convention, Techfront also don't intend to present any game. The company will participate of more than 40 reunions with foreign companies during the convention. "Our biggest expectation is to increase the contact of Techfront with foreign players of the area and negotiate with them", says Rafael Aguilher da Costa, president of the company.
