Innovation gives good results on business. (05/28/2008)

Jornal do Commercio (the leading newspaper of Pernambuco) publishes article about the need to be innovative in the Brazilian companies of IT. Read below part of the interview with D'Accord's Executive Officer to JC:

"Research:
The key to innovation is the constant investment on improvements. Who garantees is Américo Amorim, one of the partners of D'Accord, specialized in music software. "We basically started at a garage", says. The company, that today is part of Porto Digital, once was held in an upper room of a drug store in the Parnamirim neighborhood. According to Américo, D'Accord was born from the wish to work with music. In 2001, the partners developed an innovative solution for teaching to play music instruments, the Chord Dictionary.



Amorim, says that the company conquered consumers in 65 countries and in the last two years developed eight new products. "We continue investing a lot in innovation. In order to develop all these new products in such a small time, assigning good portions of our revenues to the research and development area." And in a progressive way. In 2004, 40% of the earnings went to R&D. The following year, it increased to 50%. In 2006, the slice grew to 55% and today is of 60%. "It's a really high percentage and is something that is missing in the local companies, that thinks that the market is only services", criticizes. ..."
